If you've ever stood before Angkor Wat at sunrise, watched a classical dance performance, or run your fingers along hand-woven silk at a local market — you've already felt what National Culture Day is celebrating.
Every year on the 3rd of March, Cambodia pauses to honour the living heritage that makes this country unlike anywhere else on earth. This year's theme, Youth for National Culture, places young Cambodians at the heart of that story — encouraged by Prime Minister Hun Manet to become active guardians of the traditions, crafts, and cultural landmarks that define their homeland.
But this day isn't only for Cambodians. If Cambodia has become your home, even temporarily, you're part of this community too. Schools, workplaces, and households across the country — including Khmer communities living abroad — are invited to participate, whether by joining cultural events, sharing their appreciation online, or simply taking a moment to learn something new about the country they live in. Happy National Culture Day!
